We are currently partnering with a globally recognised investment management firm to hire an Equity Research Analyst focused on European Equities for its London investment team.
Our client, a leading global asset management firm based in London, is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and commercially minded Equity Research Analyst to join its European Equities investment team.
This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier buy-side investment management firm with exposure across both long-only and long/short equity strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with some of the industry’s most respected European equity investors and portfolio managers, gaining exceptional mentorship and direct exposure to investment decision-making.
The role is ideally suited to candidates with early career experience in equity research, investment analysis, financial modelling, or fundamental analysis, who are looking to build a long-term career within buy-side asset management, hedge funds, or institutional investing.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Conduct bottom-up fundamental equity research and investment analysis across European listed companies
1. Build and maintain detailed financial models, company valuations, and earnings forecasts
2. Generate high-quality investment ideas across European equity markets
3. Analyse company financial statements, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics
4. Monitor market trends, macroeconomic developments, sector news, and corporate announcements
5. Prepare detailed investment memos, equity research reports, and presentation materials for portfolio managers
6. Support portfolio construction and investment decision-making processes
7. Attend meetings with company management teams, investor relations professionals, and industry experts
8. Collaborate closely with senior investment analysts and portfolio managers within the European equities team
Role Requirements
• 1–2 years’ experience within equity research Experience can be gained from either buy-side or sell-side institutions including asset managers, hedge funds or investment banks
9. Candidates completing rotational graduate schemes within equity research, asset management, or hedge funds are strongly encouraged to apply
10. Fluency in at least one European foreign language is highly advantageous
11. Candidates MUST hold, or be actively progressing towards, the CFA
12. Outstanding academic background, ideally within Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline
13. Strong understanding of financial markets, equity investing, and valuation methodologies
14. Demonstrable passion for investing and public markets, including personal investing, virtual portfolios, stock pitching, or independent investment research
15. Advanced analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
16. High levels of intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and attention to detail
17. Excellent communication and written presentation skills
