About The Role
As a Senior HR Case Adviser, you will be a trusted expert, guiding managers and headteachers through a wide range of complex employee relations matters.This is a dynamic role that requires strong employment law knowledge and safeguarding awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional HR advice on complex employee relations cases, applying employment law and council policies effectively.
Influence and guide senior managers and headteachers to ensure employee matters are managed appropriately and promptly.
Offer flexible, innovative solutions to resolve cases, outlining risks and options.
Act as the HR lead for safeguarding, attending multi‑agency meetings and applying substantial safeguarding knowledge.
Provide HR advice for Employment Tribunal cases and attend hearings as required.
Work with the legal team on contentious or high‑risk issues to identify solutions and mitigate organisational risk.
Mentor and support HR Case Advisers handling complex casework.
Design and deliver briefings on new or updated HR policies to managers, headteachers and governors.
Build strong working relationships with managers and headteachers to ensure timely and effective case resolution.
Support large‑scale restructures, TUPE transfers and academy conversions
Keep up to date with employment law changes through CPD and employment law
Skills / Experience Required
CIPD Level 5
Strong experience handling disciplinaries, grievances, workplace performance issues, and complex casework from end to end.
The ability to confidently guide and influence managers through challenging HR matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
Excellent communication skills and the resilience to work with sensitive and sometimes high‑risk situations.
Experienced in safeguarding, TUPE and organisational change
