Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Registered Manager to spearhead the management of a brand new 2-bedded children’s home, supporting young people of both sexes aged between 8-18 years, with emotional and behavioural needs. The home will offer placements individually tailored to meet the needs of the children.
You will be committed and proactive and shall play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care and support are delivered to our young people. You will be required to inspire and motivate staff, leading from the forefront by your example. You must ensure regulatory compliance and will be required to have broad knowledge of the relevant standards and legislation, in particular the Children’s Act, Children’s Home Regulations, Quality Standards, SCCIF, and Ofsted Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure full regulatory compliance and preparation for Ofsted inspections.
* Seek to continually develop and improve the service, ensuring best practice and positive outcomes for the young people.
* Ensure effective risk management strategies are implemented and followed, prioritising embedding safeguarding and overseeing these procedures.
* Support in the recruitment of staff, ensuring compliance with Schedule 2. Ensure you motivate and develop a staff team who feel supported and appropriately trained to deliver outstanding care and support to our young people.
* Foster and maintain robust relationships with families and external agencies, such as local authorities, regulatory bodies, education, and healthcare providers. Work collaboratively and effectively to formulate individually tailored care plans for each young person.
* Maintain management oversight, utilising recording systems to continuously monitor performance, addressing any shortfalls identified, and having the capacity to implement necessary measures to drive improvements to the service.
What we are seeking
* Substantial experience working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Commitment to child-focused practice.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Managerial Role within a Children’s Residential Care setting.
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
* Level 5 Diploma in Children’s, Young People, and Families Management is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this.
* Demonstrable and extensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures, Ofsted regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Robust leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
