Summary:
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Activities Coordinator for a homeless shelter in Huntington. The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating shelter recreation programs, as well as assisting with case management, as needed.
Compensation: $43,000 yearly salary. Plus, a $3,000 Sign-On Bonus!

Responsibilities:
* Develop, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate recreation programs, including special events.
* Establish schedules and methods for recreation services; identify resource needs; review needs with management; allocate resources accordingly.
* Participate in developing program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
* Recommend improvements to standards, policies, and procedures.
* Implement approved policies and procedures, monitor compliance.
* Identify shelter recreation needs and develop appropriate programs.
* Conduct and supervise special events; develop contracts and hire instructors.
* Prepare purchase requisitions for supplies.
* Respond to complaints and requests for information.
* Attend professional meetings; stay updated on trends; incorporate new developments into programs.
* Manage donations and donation closet.
* Transport clients via agency vehicle.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 1 year of experience in human services preferred.
* Experience working with homeless populations is a plus.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
* Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.
* Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting and standing for extended periods, moderate lifting.
