About The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will develop and support systems that provide deep insights into site usage through innovative data analytic tools and approaches within the forensic monitoring team.
Forensic monitoring supports key operational teams by capturing and analysing thousands of events per second and identifying patterns of user behaviour to ensure the stability across the core website. This is a great opportunity to utilise new and emerging technologies at a significant scale while further developing your skills as a Data Analyst.
You will analyse large volumes of data, leveraging predictive models, Machine Learning, and Python code to efficiently provide and present data-driven solutions. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction of the team as it evolves to address new and emerging challenges.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Main Responsibilities
* Looking for unusual and abnormal activity using our forensics platform.
* Analysing captured data, looking for patterns and opportunities to improve monitoring tools.
* Producing reports and proposals based on the data analysis performed.
* Developing and maintaining a platform containing diverse and complex data feeds.
* Creating advanced models and predictive tools.
* Reacting to evolving business needs and requirements.
* Driving technology change and implementing solutions.
* Managing and upholding large-scale data solutions, whilst ensuring the availability, integrity, and usability of data in the forensics cluster.
The skills and experience to help you perform in the role
* Demonstrable data analysis experience, knowledge of Python or similar technologies would be advantageous.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a relevant discipline, or relevant professional experience.
* Detailed knowledge of Machine Learning, neural networks, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.
* Experience using large data systems and SQL databases.
* Experience using Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent technologies.
* Good understanding of version control systems, such as Git.
* Knowledge of data streaming and messaging queue technologies, such as Kafka.
* Strong understanding of data modelling and data design principles.
* Good understanding of implementing cloud technologies for analytics and predictive modelling, knowledge of GCP stack would be advantageous.
* Experience of complex event processing and continuous query languages.
