Outline of responsibilities:
he Onsite Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer will oversee and manage all electrical and instrumentation aspects of a subsea cable factory project to ensure the installation, calibration, and maintenance of electrical systems and control instrumentation meet project specifications and industry standards. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and safety, resolving on-site technical challenges, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* To coordinate E&I design works and implementation
* Quality and Compliance Checks: Inspect and evaluate the quality of electrical and instrumentation installations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Provide on-the-spot technical support to troubleshoot and resolve electrical or instrumentation issues, coordinating with other engineering teams and contractors to minimize delays.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of calibration records, technical reports, system modifications, and compliance certifications. Communicate progress and issues to the Project Manager.
* Safety Protocols and Risk Management: Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and enforce safety protocols for all E&I activities. Educate on-site teams on electrical and instrumentation safety practices.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering within industrial or construction environments, preferably with hands-on site experience.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, or any specialized instrumentation and calibration certifications are advantageous.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in E&I design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, PLC programming tools), knowledge of calibration, electrical codes, process automation, and instrumentation controls.
* Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and the flexibility to work on-site
