You’ll be part of our wider Property & Maintenance team, reporting to our Maintenance Manager, and play a key role in ensuring that our care environments remain safe, functional, and welcoming. About the Role: As a Maintenance Operative, you will: Carry out low-level building maintenance tasks across various Blue Ribbon services. Respond to general maintenance requests including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and minor electrical work (non-certified). Conduct regular inspections and safety checks on lighting, fixtures, fittings, doors and furniture. Complete preventive maintenance and escalate larger or recurring issues as needed Ensure safe handling, storage and use of tools and materials in line with Health & Safety standards. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to schedule tasks with minimal disruption to care services. Maintain accurate records of work carried out, materials used, and any ongoing issues. Support with additional duties such as assembling furniture, clearing external areas and assisting with minor refurbishments. What We’re Looking For. Essential: Previous experience in a general maintenance, caretaker or handyman role. Basic skills across Plumbing, joinery, painting and decorating. Ability to work independently and manage a busy schedule across multiple locations. Understanding of Health & Safety requirements when working in care settings. Basic IT literacy for logging tasks and updates Full UK Driving license and a willingness to travel between sites. Preferable: Experience working in healthcare, education, or care home environments. Awareness of Compliance checks compliance checks such as fire doors, lighting, and emergency exits. Understanding of Safeguarding principles and working around vulnerable individuals. Why Join Us?
