Your Role as an IT Technician
Job Function:
The IT Technician will occupy a key role at Fold Hill in maintaining & supporting the IT Infrastructure across the organisation whilst ensuring minimal disruption throughout.
Areas of Responsibility:
The IT Technician role is responsible for providing all areas of IT Support. Which includes, maintaining new & existing hardware, software & the network infrastructure. As a part of the role, you’ll support the IT Manager in delivering projects, upholding security, reliability & compliance across the business.
Job Responsibilities:
* Deliver 1 st & 2 nd Line IT Support to all users, ensuring tickets are created & actioned in a timely manner & escalating where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate records of IT assets & manage hardware lifecycle across the business.
* Ensuring systems & software are kept up to date (inc patches & anti-virus).
* To be able to identify re-occurring issues & requests, make recommendations & potential IT improvement projects to the IT Manager.
* Document IT knowledge for end user systems & applications to assist them in new knowledge or changes (Example: Microsoft 365 Applications).
* To deputise for the IT Manager when they are on Annual Leave/Absence.
* To help manage, cyber security, networking & firewall policies.
* To carry out other duties as required by the IT Manager.
Required attributes:
* Level 3 BTEC in IT, Equivalent or Higher (Example: CompTIA A+ Certification).
* Previous IT Support/1 st Line Experience.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Servers, Operating Systems.
* Strong knowledge (DHCP, DNS, VLANS, Switching, VPNs).
* Experience working with Microsoft 365 Admin Portal.
* Experience with Active Directory & Entra (Hybrid environment).
* Experience with PowerShell & Command prompt (Scripts).
* Ability to work independently.
* Cyber Security Awareness.
* Willingness to learn & adapt.
* Previous 2 nd line support experience.
* Experience with Virtual Machines/Servers.
* Experience working with Ticketing Systems.
* Ability to prioritize.
* CompTIA Network+ Certification.
