Job Description
Based within the Corporate and Property Law Team, you will undertake a traineeship that will primarily focus on providing a range of legal advice and assistance to the Council's internal Digital Services.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in commercial contract drafting within an in-house IT setting, as well as advising on and supporting the Council's transition from a single supplier model to a multi-supplier framework for all its IT and Digital Services. You will work within a dynamic and supportive in-house legal team and will have the opportunity for exposure to other areas of legal work.
Applications are invited from graduates in Scots Law who hold, or will hold prior to September 2025, a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (preferably including a Public Administration elective) from a Scottish University. The training contract is anticipated to commence in October 2025.
Hybrid working is available for this role. If shortlisted, we will provide more details about our approach to meeting the needs of the business while maintaining flexibility for work-life balance.
All applicants will be required to undertake a Standard Disclosure Scotland check.
We welcome applications from everyone and consider them based on ability to do the job. We especially encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) and Disabled candidates to improve workforce diversity.
This post is temporary for up to 2 years.
