University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 6 Deputy Team Lead Pre-Treatment Radiotherapy Radiographer based at Poole Hospital.
Post holder will work with limited or no clinical supervision and deputise for the Team Leader radiographer as appropriate in day‑to‑day management of the pre‑treatment unit.
They will make clinical decisions related to patient condition and treatment accuracy, seeking support from senior staff for decisions outside their scope.
Main duties of the job
Highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapy Radiographer required to develop and deliver accurate radiotherapy treatment plans using CT scanning, virtual simulation, and mould room manufacturing. The role involves working with Philips Big Bore CT scanner, Mosaiq, Eclipse, Gate CT‑Vision RT, dedicated mould room, Varian TrueBeam linacs and advanced techniques such as Surface Guided Radiotherapy, Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy and tattoo‑less planning.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer.
* BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent accredited programme.
* Formal evidence of post‑registration study.
Experience
* Experience using pre‑treatment equipment such as CT scanners, virtual simulation software and clinical markup.
* Training in cannulation and administration of IV contrast media.
* Experience in the mould room and manufacture of immobilisation devices.
* Evidence of continuing education and professional development.
* Post‑registration experience with sophisticated radiotherapy equipment, including advanced techniques and competence in IGRT and IMRT.
* Participation in planning specialised techniques (e.g. 4DCT, vDIBH, SGRT, SABR).
* Experience leading breast planning/contouring.
Skills
