Overview
Due to maternity leave, we have an exciting opportunity for an NMP or Pharmacist Prescriber to join our Wiltshire service for 12 months.
Our integrated community drug and alcohol service offers support to individuals across Wiltshire. You will work within a busy prescribing service under the supervision of our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead, alongside our Clinical Team, Team Managers, specialist Recovery Workers and Volunteers to improve the wellbeing of a wide range of individuals.
As a community based Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber at our Connect Service, you’ll make a real difference as you empower and enable people to change. You’ll be supported to enhance your own life too, and you will have the opportunity to shape the role within a friendly multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Involvement with opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions, benzodiazepine reductions, alcohol and opiate detoxifications and relapse prevention medications.
* Support for health care assessments, administering detoxification medication, administering pabrinex, completing alcohol and opiate detoxification assessments, BBV screening and vaccinations.
* Work closely with mental health, physical health and social care services to create a collaborative approach linking Turning Point with external professionals and agencies.
* Attend local prescribers meetings, one-to-one clinical supervision and national prescriber/clinician meetings to support learning and professional development.
* Participate in training and supervision provided by the Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead.
* Contribute to shaping service delivery and delivering clinically excellent services.
* Access RCNi to assist with revalidation, indemnity insurance and support from leadership in medicines optimisation and nursing.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or a qualified Pharmacist and already a qualified independent prescriber. Confident managing prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxifications.
* Experience working in Wiltshire with excellent communication, organisation, and ability to develop flexible, tailored support packages.
* Demonstrates empathy, understanding and patience when engaging with people with diverse needs.
* Interviews will be held on Thursday 2 October at the Trowbridge office (Rothermere House, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JQ; no on-site parking).
