The Department of Languages, Cultures & Film wishes to appoint to a fixed-term Lectureship (Teaching and Scholarship) in Spanish to provide cover for a colleague on an UKRI Fellowship. You will be a key member of our Iberian and Latin American Studies team, working with colleagues to maintain and enhance our undergraduate programmes and to help deliver our MA in Translation launched in 2024.
This post is part time (0.8 FTE) and is available from 1 September 2026 until 30 June 2027.
You should have a postgraduate qualification (Master's or PhD) in Spanish or Latin American Studies or a relevant related discipline and provide clear evidence of teaching experience in Hispanic Studies. A PhD is desirable but not essential.
You should also be able to demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultural contexts; a focus on transnational and intercultural approaches to Hispanic Studies is what makes our degree programme in Liverpool unique and attractive, and the department actively encourages comparative, global, transnational and transcultural approaches. Active engagement with scholarship in the field of Hispanic and/or Latin American Studies is expected, as is the demonstration of leadership in high-quality teaching innovations.
