Teaching Assistant – Blackburn
Location: Blackburn
Length of Role: Temp to Perm, starting September 2026
Pay Rate: £14.25 – £16.00 per hour
Setting: Mainstream Primary School
We are recruiting a committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Blackburn. This temp-to-perm role begins in September 2026 and focuses on providing general classroom support, with additional emphasis on helping pupils with SEND to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality support, adapt learning materials, and promote positive engagement. You will play a key role in ensuring all pupils feel included, supported, and confident in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide general classroom support across the school day
* Offer targeted assistance to pupils with SEND
* Support lesson delivery and small-group activities
* Assist with behaviour management and classroom routines
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and wider staff
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children in a primary school setting
* Understanding of SEND and inclusive practice
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A patient, proactive, and nurturing approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and child development
