Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Long-Term Supply with Temp-to-Perm Potential) Location: Blackpool, Lancashire Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour The Role: We are recruiting for a committed and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a dedicated SEMH school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for helping young learners overcome barriers related to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Your Responsibilities: Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with SEMH needs. Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals. Track and report progress and behaviours effectively. Who We’re Looking For: Experience supporting children and/or young adults with SEMH or challenging behaviour. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Strong communication and de-escalation skills. Passion for working with vulnerable or at-risk children.
