About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-motivated, and highly organised Senior Biomedical Scientist & Training Officer to join our dynamic Haematology team at our state-of-the-art laboratory in The Halo Building, London. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Routine Haematology and ideally have experience in specialist areas such as Haemoglobinopathy (Special Haematology).
Within the Haematology Department—comprising both Automation and Specialist sections—the post holder will actively participate in all areas of laboratory bench work. They will work collaboratively with other senior scientific staff to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective service and will also be responsible for managing and organising staff training within the department. The post holder will be required to work core and unsocial hours as part of the role.
The successful candidate must:
* Hold current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
* Possess either a Specialist Diploma in Haematology or an MSc in a relevant subject.
* Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an established Biomedical Scientist in a Haematology laboratory.
Our Haematology Department, spread across two floors, is an exciting state of the art laboratory connected to other departments via our GLP track system, which is unique in it’s scale and spans over multiple floors. It is based in our flagship hub laboratory, ‘The Halo Building’ which is home to more than 1,000 staff working within a connected suite of laboratories spanning more than 100,000 square feet. It has dedicated clinical and non-clinical cores for vertical connectivity.
