Role Overview
Engineering Systems SME – Permanent – Crawley, United Kingdom (Hybrid) – 40 hours per week (Full-time).
We have an exciting opportunity for you – Engineering Systems SME! Join a critical support environment where you can leverage your expertise in airline engineering systems and MRO platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support 24x7 operations of engineering systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Deliver production support in line with defined service levels and KPIs.
- Align closely with Engineering System and Application Support Managers.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and operational activities across engineering systems.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and drive the implementation of best practices.
- Maintain operational excellence through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimisation.
- Provide on-call support on a rotation basis to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Work flexibly to support global operations and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Essential: Strong expertise in Engineering MRO systems, including platforms such as Trax.
- Proven airline experience with a solid understanding of engineering systems applications.
- Hands‑on experience with Airbus and Boeing system administration.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and experience delivering BAU support, including on‑call responsibilities.
- Understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and service management processes.
- Experience in Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Request Management.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability in managing operational responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in high‑pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across business and technology teams.
- Strong organisational skills with experience working in fast‑paced environments.
- Desirable: Airline domain expertise in aircraft engineering and maintenance.
- Experience supporting large‑scale, mission‑critical engineering systems.
- Exposure to 24x7 operations and global support delivery models.
- Ability to drive service improvement initiatives within support functions.
