About the Role
We are looking for an inspiring English Lead Teacher to help shape our brand‑new school and lead the development of English across the curriculum. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, independence and curiosity through personalised, engaging learning experiences.
We welcome teachers with EYFS or primary backgrounds who can adapt their skills for older learners, as well as subject specialists who can deliver a broad curriculum. As English Lead, you will champion high‑quality literacy provision and contribute to whole‑school development.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Plan and deliver high‑quality teaching that inspires and engages pupils
2. Lead the development of English across the school, ensuring a cohesive, creative and inclusive approach to literacy
3. Teach individuals and small groups, adapting learning to meet diverse and complex needs
4. Deliver the curriculum through creative, engaging and practical learning experiences
5. Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress and achievement
6. Contribute to the School Development Plan and continuous improvement
7. Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
8. Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence
9. Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and other key documents
10. Take responsibility for subject areas and contribute to curriculum development
11. Create meaningful learning moments that pupils remember long after the lesson ends
About You
We’re seeking teachers who combines professional skill with empathy, resilience and enthusiasm.
12. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
13. Works collaboratively and contributes positively to school life
14. Is passionate about delivering inclusive, high-quality education across a range of learning pathways
15. Can build strong relationships and inspire pupils to succeed
16. Is organised, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
17. Has a strong belief that every pupil can succeed
