EC&I Technician – Plymouth
We’re recruiting for multiple EC&I Technicians to join a major industrial project in Plymouth, supporting refurbishment, maintenance, and upgrade works on a wide range of plant equipment.
Key Role
You’ll be involved in inspecting, testing, fault finding, and recommissioning equipment, as well as upgrading and modifying older systems, including panel building, rewiring, calibration, and setting to work.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Electrical, control & instrumentation maintenance and upgrades
2. Fault finding on motors, drives, control systems, and instrumentation
3. Testing, inspection, and condition reporting
4. PLC, SCADA, and VSD/DOL work
5. Instrument calibration, loop checking, and valve setups
6. Reading P&IDs and electrical drawings
7. Supporting safe systems of work and permit procedures
8. Working closely with mechanical and operations teams
Requirements
9. NVQ Level 3 (Electrical / Control / Instrumentation) or equivalent
10. 5+ years’ industrial experience
11. Strong fault-finding and test/inspection skills
12. Experience with 3-phase systems, instrumentation, and control systems
13. Understanding of safe systems of work

15. 2391 Inspection & Testing
16. Confined space, working at height, or slinging/signaller tickets
Additional Information
17. All employees are required to undergo drug and alcohol screening
18. Initially Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm (future shift pattern to be confirmed)
19. Salary is dependent on experience
20. Due to site location, candidates must have their own reliable transport
