Are you an engineer looking to take the first step from the shop floor into a customer-facing technical support position? For the right candidate, with a solid foundation in CNC metal cutting, we can offer specialist product knowledge training to develop a successful career in cutting tools application sales.
As part of a strong existing field-based application sales team, this role will focus on technical and sales support to existing customers in the West Midlands, working in close collaboration with the Technical Sales Engineer and Key Account Manager teams.


Application Sales Engineer - WEST MIDLANDS


Main Tasks & Responsibilities

* Demand-orientated technical advice and customer support.
* Successful identification of customer needs to sell and advise the right tools and solutions.
* Planning and implementation of regular customer visits and contact.
* Customer-specific definition and implementation of projects and components.
* Process optimisation of production at target customers on site.
* Responsibility for the replenishment and management of Tool Supply machines at designated customer sites.
* Technical consulting for projects in cooperation with the Technical Sales Engineers and Projects Team.
* The presentation of new tools and customer cutting trials in conjunction with the Sales and Projects Team.
* Technical support for all external sales channels across General Machining and Key Accounts.
* Management of customer queries to a satisfactory conclusion.
* Observation of the market and competitor trends in respect of product range and pricing.
* Professional presentation of the Company and product portfolio.


Profile & Requirements

* Successful completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship, with a bias towards CNC machining.
* Minimum two years post apprenticeship experience in CNC machining / metal cutting.
* Located in the West Midlands area, or willing to relocate.
* High levels of tenacity, drive and motivation.
* Ability and confidence to work autonomously.
* Excellent communication skills. A strong customer focus.
* A flexibility to meet customer and business needs.
* A full UK driving licence – role involves frequent daily travel.
* No previous sales experience is required.
