Hays is partnering with a leading London local authority to recruit a Senior Valuation Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing property team responsible for managing, valuing and optimising a diverse and high-profile portfolio across the borough.
Your new role
As Senior Valuation Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely valuations to support strategic decision-making across the council. You will work across a broad range of asset types-including operational buildings, commercial investments, land, and development opportunities-providing professional advice that directly contributes to the borough's long-term financial sustainability.
You will be responsible for:
* Undertaking RICS-compliant valuations for statutory, financial reporting and strategic purposes
* Managing a varied caseload of operational and investment assets
* Providing professional advice on acquisitions, disposals, and asset reviews
* Supporting the development and implementation of asset management strategies
* Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external partners and senior leadership
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced valuation professional with:
* MRICS qualification and Registered Valuer status.
* Strong experience producing valuations across multiple asset classes
* Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder-management skills
* A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to influence decision-makers
* Previous public-sector experience is desirable but not essential.
