Job Summary
The Metroline Technician will report directly to their appointed Engineering Manager or in his absence, the Assistant Engineering Manager and will be responsible for providing engineering support to the garage engineering team. This will involve all aspects of engineering required to facilitate the smooth day to day running of the garage
Main Responsibilities
1. Ensuring that the Company Operator Licence is protected at all times;
2. Completing repairs to a high standard;
3. Working in a safe manner in accordance with Metroline Health & Safety directives;
4. Dealing with vehicle faults as directed by the manager;
5. Diagnosing faults using appropriate fault diagnosis equipment;
6. Entering details of fault diagnosis onto the Fleet Management System;
7. Entering details of vehicle faults and creating job cards onto the Fleet Management System;
8. Assisting engineers with technical issues;
9. Notifying manager of any additional information on faults and repairs that are required;
10. Completion of the wheel nut check book when required.
11. Reporting in detail any technical issues that arise to the Technical Manager;
12. Reading and understanding technical bulletins when issued;
13. Following procedures described in the Company Quality Manual;
14. Identifying spares required and ensuring they are ordered on time;
15. Attending internal and external training courses where required;
16. Developing a sound working relationship with drivers, operations staff and communicate well with other engineers and managers;
17. Keep work areas clean at all times;
18. Supporting the Assistant Engineering Manager or Engineering Manager during periods of leave or absence.
Essential Criteria for application
19. Technically adept.
20. Sound technical knowledge of PCV requirements.
21. Experience of the London Transport environment.
22. Hold a full PCV licence.
23. NVQ3 Qualification or equivalent
