At McDermotts, we're hiring a Shuttering Carpenter to join our dynamic team.
We are seeking a highly skilled civil or building projects and communicator to support the McDermotts function in Middlesborough.
To be considered for the role you must have:
* Proven experience in shuttering carpentry on civil or building projects
Main Responsibilities
* Constructing and installing formwork for concrete pours
* Installation of peckerfill and stop ends
* Adjustment of rebar as required in beams
* Making bolt sets and setting into place alongside engineer
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
* Ensuring formwork is accurately aligned and securely braced
* Striking and dismantling shuttering safely and efficiently
* Collaborating with site engineers and groundworks teams
* Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
Education:
GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
* Proven experience in shuttering carpentry on civil or building projects
* Ability to read and work from structural drawings
* CSCS card (NVQ Level 2 or higher preferred)
* Own tools and PPE
* Strong awareness of site safety procedures
