Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Class Teaching Assistant to join our team in Preston. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning activities within our school, primarily focusing on Key Stage 2 classes. This is a full-time position that will also involve occasional cover of classes.
Responsibilities:
5. Assist the class teacher in implementing lesson plans and delivering engaging educational activities.
6. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
7. Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.
8. Support students with challenging behavior, utilising appropriate strategies and interventions
9. Occasionally cover classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
10. Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other members of the school community.
Requirements:
11. A Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent.
12. Thorough understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science, and other subjects.
13. Ability to confidently manage and support challenging classroom dynamics.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
15. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the school environment.
16. Desirable: Previous experience or training in phonics instruction.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
