The Role
Are you ready to bring your electrical expertise to a team that truly makes a difference?
We're looking for a passionate and proactive Electrical Field Service Engineer to join our Wastewater Production team-someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is ready to roll up their sleeves to keep essential services flowing smoothly.
This isn't just another maintenance role. You'll be a vital part of a team that supports the heartbeat of our communities-providing planned, proactive and reactive electrical maintenance and technical support across our wastewater operations. Whether you're fault-finding in the field, carrying out preventative maintenance, or ensuring our systems remain fully compliant with statutory and regulatory standards-you'll be helping to keep things running where it really counts.
Key Accountabilities
* Delivering efficient and high-quality electrical maintenance and installation services that keep everything running smoothly.
* Diagnosing and fixing electrical and instrumentation faults to get systems back online quickly and safely.
* Carrying out planned and proactive maintenance that helps us stay ahead of the game-not just reacting when things go wrong.
* Following all Health & Safety regulations and company policies-safety first!
* To manage budgets effectively, making smart decisions that support cost control without cutting corners.
* Keeping accurate, reliable records on asset performance and repairs-your insights will help us continuously improve.
* Identifying recurring maintenance issues and coming up with practical, long-term solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
We're looking for a skilled Electrical Field Service Engineer who's ready to hit the ground running. To be successful in this role, you'll need to have:
* A time-served apprenticeship (or equivalent), supported by relevant academic qualifications-ideally a HNC, or an ONC in a technical discipline.
* A valid UK driving license-this role involves field-based work across various sites.
* Experience working with PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, including network diagnostics, disaster recovery and small system modifications.
* A strong desire to grow your skills-we're big on development and will support you to gain additional flexi-skills qualification that enhance your role.
* The ability to work well independently and as part of a team-we value self-motivation, resilience and a positive, can-do mindset.
* Participate in out-of-hours standby rota is also part of the role-and we'll make sure you're fully supported when the rime comes.
Benefits
* A generous annual leave package of 26 days, which increases to 30 days after four years of service (increases one day per year), in addition to 8 bank holidays
* A competitive pension scheme with up to 14% employer contribution, 21% combined, and life cover
* Up to 7.5% performance-related bonus scheme, as well as recognition awards for outstanding achievements
* A comprehensive healthcare plan through our company-funded scheme
* MyGymDiscounts - gym and wellness benefit that offers up to 25% off on gym memberships and digital fitness subscriptions

* EVolve Car Scheme
* Employee Assistance Plan
* Mental health first aiders
