Salary: £50,000 - £53,000 per annum, plus 27 days holiday + bank holidays, life assurance, pension (up to 10% 'employer' contributions and employee to match - 20% maximum total), and overtime (£10k+ potential)
Hours: 12 hour rotation shifts of days & nights
Location: Commutable from Reading, Newbury, Thatcham, Swindon, Basingstoke, Andover, Oxford, Didcot, and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work in a large and fast moving manufacturing factory. The environment is of a heavier nature so you must be physically fit and enjoy getting your hands dirty.
It is working in an engineering department of 10 approx. and in team of 2 Engineers when on shift. It is working on a 12 hour rotation shift pattern covering days & nights.

Responsibilities
You will be working in a small team of engineers covering;
· Focusing on mechanical maintenance and fitting work across all plant and machinery through fault finding, planned maintenance, shut downs and project work.
· Working in a dedicated mechanical team, responsible for all mechanics across the factory.
· Identification of solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
· Support the handover of work to the opposite shift and ensure works are logged and recorded.
· To work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.
· To be actively involved in the TPM improvement process.
The role is biased to reactive maintenance, dealing with breakdowns and machinery problems.
Requirements
· Mechanically trained and qualified either through an Apprenticeship or similar or equivalent, holding mechanical engineering qualifications.
· Mechanical background in a similar environment, in industrial or production or manufacturing environment.
· Your job titles may include Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Technician.
· We are looking for someone who has SOME of the following mechanical experience; gear boxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, belts, bearings, chains, shafts, boilers, steam, pumps, welding, fault finding and repairs.
· Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with the hunger to learn and progress
· Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
· Physically fit that loves to get their hands dirty in a heavier style of environment
