What you’ll be doing
In this hands-on role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for escalated issues, working closely with both our internal teams and frontline NHS staff. Whether it's troubleshooting a critical outage, guiding a customer through a cloud deployment, or writing up solutions for our knowledge base, your work will keep systems running and users supported.
You'll:
* Investigate and resolve 2nd & 3rd line incidents escalated from the Service Desk and monitoring tools.
* Be a trusted advisor to the customer, helping solve problems and explain solutions in clear, human language.
* Work as an extension of the customer’s IT team — delivering expertise, empathy, and high-quality service.
* Take the lead in incident triage, root cause analysis, and service restoration — always focused on meeting SLAs.
* Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to fix issues and improve services.
* Spot recurring problems, implement long-term fixes, and contribute to continual service improvement.
* Share your knowledge through documentation, mentoring, and informal training.
* Support small-scale project rollouts and get involved in on-call duties where needed.

Qualifications
What you bring to the team
Must-haves
* 3+ years in a 2nd/3rd line IT support or systems role within a service provider or enterprise environment.
* Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and Microsoft 365/Exchange.
* Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
* Great understanding of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, ADFS, SCCM, Intune & VMware.
* Confident diagnosing networking and infrastructure issues.
* A natural problem-solver who can think fast and stay calm under pressure.
* Excellent communicator – whether it’s writing technical documentation or explaining an issue to a non-tech user.
* Working knowledge of ITIL, SLAs, KPIs, and incident/change/problem management.
* Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
Nice-to-haves
* Certifications in Azure, M365, or VMware.
* Experience with Veeam Backup.
* ITIL Foundation qualification.
