Job Description:
Job Purpose:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving employer engagement, securing new apprenticeship training business, and building strategic partnerships to grow our apprenticeship provision. You will be the key point of contact for employers, understanding their skills needs and promoting our apprenticeship offer as a tailored solution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategies to grow apprenticeship delivery through new and existing employer partnerships
* Identify and engage with employers across priority sectors to promote relevant apprenticeship programmes
* Conduct employer needs analysis to align apprenticeship provision with workforce development plans
* Achieve monthly and annual targets for apprenticeship starts and employer engagement
* Generate leads through networking, cold outreach, employer events, and industry referrals
* Manage and nurture relationships with employers throughout the apprenticeship lifecycle
* Liaise with internal teams (e.g. curriculum, quality, compliance) to ensure seamless onboarding of apprentices
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and market trends
* Provide accurate forecasting and reporting on pipeline activity and conversions
* Contribute to bid writing and tender opportunities where relevant
* Proven experience in business development, sales or employer engagement in the apprenticeships or wider training sector
* Strong understanding of the apprenticeship levy, non-levy funding, and ESFA funding rules
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders
* Ability to work to targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong IT skills, including CRM use and Microsoft Office
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally or nationally as required
* Experience working in a training provider or FE setting
* Knowledge of Ofsted inspection framework and quality standards
* Familiarity with digital and blended learning models
