How will you make animpact
The Technical ApplicationsScientist II will take ownership for providing pre and postsalestechnical support for part of our sequencing portfolio particularlyIon Torrent Next Generation Sequencing instrumentation and Oncomineand AmpliSeq applications software and analysis. The TAS II willprovide support directly to customers and field personnel as wellas relaying feedback to theorganization.
What will youdo
* Provide technicalsupport for NGS products and workflows by answering customertechnical inquiries. Inquiries may be received via telephone emailor web form.
* Provide support on technicalissues by using all available resources and collaborate withvarious experts within our organization to address issues orproblems when warranted.
* Work with ClinicalApplication Scientists and Field Application Scientists to ensureeffective support for Ion and Oncomine Assays. Collaborate oncustomer projects providing technical expertise and clinicalinsights to enhance the implementation and utilization of our NGSplatforms.
* Accurately record pertinentinformation from customer contacts in our Customer RelationshipManagement system and assist in the development of continuousimprovement.
* Gather commercial andtechnological trends and convert them into technical tips createFAQs and work on troubleshooting guides.
* Recommend changes to our knowledge databases websites andother companymanaged resources of technical information.
* Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute toour department meetings. Participate in frequent training onproducts and continuing education on our new applications andtechnologies.
* Perform other related tasks asopportunities arise.
* A minimum of travel maybe required for theposition.
How will youget here
EducationMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelorsdegree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. Molecular BiologyGenetics Bioinformatics) is required.; a Masters degree orPhD/postdoctoral experience in a relevant field ispreferred.
Experience
* 210 years laboratory experience.
* Strong Hands on experience with Sequencing techniquesideally with Oncology sequencing experience.
* Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory orclinical research environment with exposure to NGS technologies andinterpretation of genomic data is highly desirable.
* Prior experience in customer service or a customer facingrole is a strong plus.
* Fluent in Spanish andEnglish (min. C1 level)
* Additional Europeanlanguages are anasset.
Knowledge SkillsAbilities
* Requires indepth knowledge of NGS instruments software kits and services andproficiency in working with NGS products particularly Ion Torrentand Oncomine Assays is critical.
* Solidunderstanding of clinical oncology principles practices andterminology.
* Familiarity with bioinformaticstools and data analysis pipelines commonly employed in NGSworkflows is preferred.
* Willingness to adaptto evolving technologies and stay uptodate with the latestadvancements in NGS and clinical oncology. Demonstrated commitmentto continuous learning and professional development.
* Regulatory knowledge: A firm understanding of the lawsregulations and guidelines that govern the clinical diagnosticsector with a willingness to stay up to date with the everevolvingregulatory landscape ensuring awareness of the legal obligationsand requirements which businesses must adhere to.
* Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of newcomplex technical information.
* Demonstratedability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing tocustomers and colleagues.
* Ability to balancemultiple tasks while ensuring timely and accuratecompletion.
* Problemsolving abilities and anatural curiosity.
* Digital literacy includingspreadsheet database word processing and Internetapplications.
* A minimum twoyear dedication toTechnical Support is required due to the extensive upfront trainingneeded to fully support our expansive productline.
