About the Role
As Design Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians to deliver detailed building services designs to the highest standards. You’ll be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring projects run smoothly from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers through detailed design stages (BSRIA 4a-4c).
* Oversee Revit technicians in producing accurate MEP models.
* Act as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships and creating future opportunities.
* Chair team meetings, delegate effectively, and ensure technical accuracy and quality.
* Monitor project budgets, mitigate risks, and report progress to senior leadership.
* Drive efficiency improvements and contribute to developing best practices.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience as a proactive building services design manager.
* Strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering (ideal) and familiarity with other disciplines.
* Hands-on experience delivering Stage 4 detailed designs for MEP installations.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Proficiency in Revit for review and comment purposes.
* Understanding of BIM compliance, buildability, and commissioning requirements.
