Applications Manager Location : Plymouth/Hybrid – with travel across Devon (up to 2 days/week)
Salary : Up to £50,000 per annum (based on experience) plus performance bonus
Contract : Full-time, Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Applications Manager to lead the evolution of our business-critical software landscape. Overseeing the development, support and optimisation of core applications across local government and healthcare environments.
Ensuring applications are scalable, secure, and well-integrated — improving productivity and data flow across departments.
Managing third-party suppliers and software vendors, from procurement to SLA compliance.
Driving application-related projects, balancing timelines, budgets and risk.
Monitoring performance, leading improvement efforts and managing the applications roadmap.
Experience in a senior IT applications role, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership position.
Proven ability to lead a team of 8 or more, coaching for development while delivering results.
A strong grasp of business applications common in local government or healthcare (HR/payroll, asset management, social care, etc.).
Solid project and vendor management experience.
Familiarity with application security, integration, and performance optimisation.
A full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites across Devon.
