Job Role: Curriculum Team Leader – BELPS (Bespoke Employer Led Provision) - Maternity Cover

Department: Adult & Community Learning

Reporting to: Associate Director of Quality & Operations, ACL

Contract: MC Lecturer, Whole Time, Fixed Term Maternity Cover

Salary: Lecturer Salary, Scale Pt 12-16, from £39,364 - £43,562 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Teaching Hours: 864 hours per annum based on full time

(Up to 7 hours abatement for the role of Curriculum Leader depending on allocated duties)

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension: Teacher’s Pension Scheme

Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD

The role salary progression note: The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).


The Role

We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Team Leader–BELP(Bespoke Employer Lead Provision)to provide academic excellence and strong operational leadership across a designated curriculum area. This role will involve the full management of curriculum delivery, leading and supporting staff through effective line management, performance development and innovative teaching practice. You will guide the team in delivering engaging programmes, drive the development of high-quality Schemes of Work, embed the use of technology and promote outstanding learning, teaching and assessment. You will also ensure full compliance with Awarding Body requirements, maintain up-to-date sector knowledge, and uphold the highest standards in student registration, quality assurance and curriculum management.


Key Responsibilities

* To provide academic leadership of curriculum teams and operational management of the curriculum area including assisting in the development of timetables, the monitoring of quality and performance management where necessary.
* To lead on Learning, Teaching & Assessment and implement variety in teaching and learning approaches, carrying out lesson observations and walk throughs as required.
* Coordinate and lead on a range of qualifications, preparing PVC documentation liaising with external and internal verifiers/moderators and ensuring that all Awarding Body and College requirements are met.
* Ensure effective and efficient deployment of staff including sickness cover.
* To work with Assistant Principal/Associate Director to ensure high quality and successful delivery of Bespoke Employer Led Provision as well as ACL commercial offer. Including Additional Learning Support (ALS) related to each course.


Qualifications

* To hold a relevant qualification at Degree level.
* To be a qualified Teacher or must be prepared to commence an appropriate teaching qualification on appointment to the post.


Experience

* Experience of teaching in an FE college or training provider
* An understanding of issues related to disaffection
* To have good time management and organisational skills
* Evidence of disseminating own good practice effectively
* Experience in managing a team of staff
* Current knowledge of potential issues that may impact on curriculum delivery.
* Knowledge of career opportunities for all age ranges of students.
* Good oral and written communication skills with a capacity to deal effectively with staff, students, parents, employers and others.
