About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our fast-growing business based in Birchwood, Warrington. We are looking for an intuitive, multi-skilled Service Engineer to join our team and play an integral role in the growth and development of the business by providing customers with first-class service and effective solutions.
This role involves hands‑on work across both mechanical and electrical avenues, including installations, maintenance, breakdowns, and diagnostic work on compressed air systems. If you enjoy problem‑solving and working with a variety of industrial equipment, this is the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair, refurbish, and install compressed air equipment and associated pipework.
* Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement engineering solutions.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.
* Perform diagnostic work on mechanical and electrical compressor components.
* Assist with occasional installation of compressed air pipework and system upgrades.
* Identify parts requirements and maintain van stock in saleable condition.
* Complete tasks on time and to customer satisfaction.
* Carry out routine administrative duties promptly and efficiently.
* Communicate customer feedback and prospective sales opportunities.
* Contribute to the organisation’s quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
* Undertake any other duties within the scope of the role as required.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven diagnostic skills on complex mechanical or electromechanical systems (full product training provided).
* Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, Compressor Engineer, Multiskilled Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, or similar.
* Ability to maintain professional relationships with both existing and new customers.
* Field service experience in electrical or mechanical systems (e.g., compressors, filtration, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatics, hydraulics, pipework, motors, pumps, valves, robotics).
* Technical engineering qualification, apprentice training, FGas, or similar advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (Full and clean UK driving licence).
* Able to perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs.
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with various engineering departments.
* Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (occasional weekend and bank holiday work may be required)
* Holiday: 25 days plus 3 company closure days and 8 bank/public holidays
