Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
A rare opportunity to lead the next phase of Northern LGPS by establishing its inaugural senior leadership team and shaping its future direction, culture and operating model.
About Northern LGPS
Northern LGPS is a c£70bn pooled investment partnership for the Local Government Pension Scheme, bringing together the investments of Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Merseyside Pension Fund and West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
Building on the foundations of its collaboration over several years, Northern LGPS is now entering the next phase of its development. This phase focuses on establishing an FCA authorised investment management company with a dedicated senior leadership team; strengthening governance and creating a clear operating model to support long-term investment outcomes.
For those joining at this stage, the opportunity is exceptional. These roles offer the chance to shape strategy, set standards and build leadership capability for the long term, working closely with the partner funds, who are both shareholders and clients, Boards and regulators to ensure Northern LGPS continues to evolve as a well-governed, resilient investment organisation.
The role
* Set the overall vision and strategic direction for Northern LGPS within a strong governance framework
* Lead the establishment of the organisation, including culture, operating model and leadership team
* Build and lead a high-performing executive team
* Act as the primary interface with the Board, partner funds, regulators, Government and other key players in the financial services industry
* Ensure the organisation delivers strong long-term outcomes with integrity, control and accountability
* Working closely with the 3 regional combined authorities to deliver local investment objectives
* Carry out the SMF 1 role for a c£70bn AIFM with MiFID permissions.
About you
* Senior leader with significant experience in investment management and/or a major pension fund
* Proven track record of leading complex, regulated organisations
* Comfortable operating at Board level and engaging with regulators and/or government
* Clear, credible communicator who can lead through change
* Motivated by building and leading a new organisation
