We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Assistant, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at client's discretion.
Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Assistant to provide administrative support to the Fleet and Transport Maintenance team. The role will involve delivering high-quality clerical and customer service support, ensuring accurate records are maintained, and contributing to the smooth running of fleet and transport operations.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Fleet and Transport Maintenance service.
* Input and maintain accurate data and records in internal systems, including fleet and maintenance logs.
* Prepare, update, and process documents such as correspondence, reports, purchase orders, and invoices.
* Respond to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries from internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
* Support scheduling, diary management, and coordination of meetings for the fleet and maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office packages.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users.
* Proven administrative or clerical experience in a busy office environment.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage workloads effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
