Onshore Renewables Project Manager - Development ScottishPower HQ, Glasgow. G2 5AD Competitive Salary with 15% Bonus and Single Person Healthcare Flexible Working Pattern Help us create a better future, quicker As Project Manager, you will become a valued member of our Onshore Development Team based at our Glasgow HQ. This role encompasses all aspects of project development to ensure the effective delivery of Onshore renewable projects to meet the ScottishPower Renewables ambitious Onshore pipeline growth targets. Your focus will be on the delivery of planning consents and permits for projects with all necessary financial approvals and budgetary controls associated. You will establish strong relationships with all major stakeholders which includes Regulators, Planning Authorities, Governments, Communities, Landowners, Land Agents, Legal Advisors, Sub Consultants and Suppliers. Most activities will be based within ScottishPower HQ in Glasgow, however some travel may be required to facilitate project meetings and site visits. What you'll be doing You will lead and recommend appropriate project and commercial strategies to the Senior Project Manager and the Head of Onshore Development to identify management of risks and issues. Being responsible for financial management which includes budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and cost control, you will be involved in tendering processes and the effective management of external suppliers and contractors. Importantly, we look for you to formulate the strategy and review of the Environmental Impact Assessment process, including the preparation of Environmental Statements and planning applications for our Renewables projects, helping support any Planning Appeals process should one arise. This will include the development of strategies to secure the land rights for our projects. Using your communication skills, you will effectively liaise and consult with Stakeholders, as required, such as Local Planning Authorities, Scottish Government, An Bord Pleanála and the Northern Ireland Department for Infrastructure to secure approval and/or resolution of any issues raised on projects using your innovative thinking and help identify potential mitigation to offset project risk. What you'll bring To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate as minimum: Project Management capability and experience Planning/Environmental qualification or technical discipline Renewable project design techniques and requirements and/or experience of consenting major infrastructure projects in the UK Environmental Impact Assessment detailed knowledge and awareness Knowledge of the local and national planning process Some awareness of energy yield assessment and ideally knowledge of solar and energy storage technologies Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills The ability to oversee the compilation of high-quality Environmental Impact Assessments The ability to develop and deliver high quality planning applications and fit for purpose consents A highly developed understanding of the impacts of construction on the environment Be an innovative and creative thinker, excellent communicator and you must be highly organised and used to working to very challenging deadlines IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software What's in it for you As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
