Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual interested in women's football at Tier 3, working with elite female footballers.
We seek Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, or Sports Rehabilitators to join the Medical department. The Medical Therapist plays a vital role in AFC Wimbledon Women's long-term vision.
The successful candidate will provide physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for all women’s players from the 1st team and occasionally support pathway players.
Candidates must be flexible with working hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This role offers opportunities for internal CPD, staying current with literature, and enhancing practical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Conduct clinical assessments of injured players before games
* Maintain detailed injury and treatment records and upload them to our platform
* Communicate regularly with coaches, S&C team, and players regarding injuries and availability
* Participate in in-house CPD sessions
* Support the development of junior therapists within the women's pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies including health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFA qualification (and commitment to annual reaccreditation)
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, including injury management and rehabilitation planning
* Suitable medical insurance for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
* Ability to play or participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
