This role is suited to an individual with strong hands-on expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing high-pressure pipework systems for compressed air and industrial gases. Candidates must be technically competent, safety-focused, and capable of interpreting detailed engineering specifications.Job SummaryAs a Compressed Air Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of industrial pipework systems used to transport compressed air, nitrogen, and other gases. You will work from engineering drawings and project specifications, ensuring all installations are safe, compliant, and completed to high standards. This position requires extensive practical experience, strong diagnostic capabilities, and a commitment to precision and safety at all times.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and fabricate aluminium, copper, stainless steel, and threaded steel pipework systemsInterpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsMeasure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to exact specifications using relevant toolsPerform welding, brazing, soldering, and use mechanical connectors to securely join pipeworkInstall pipe supports, hangers, and clamps to ensure safe and stable systemsComplete pressure, leak, and system functionality tests on new and repaired systemsConduct routine and preventative maintenance on existing compressed air/gas pipe systemsDiagnose and troubleshoot faults, replacing components or carrying out repairs as requiredProvide on-site supervision, coordinating with other trades and supporting junior pipe fittersEnsure strict adherence to EHS regulations, PPE usage, and safe working practicesRequired Skills & Qualifications45 years experience as a pipe fitter, specifically with compressed air systems in industrial or commercial environmentsStrong technical knowledge of piping materials, joining techniques, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, OSHA)Proven blueprint reading abilityExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving skillsPhysically fit with the ability to lift heavy components, climb, and work in confined/elevated spacesValid driving licence (essential due to travel to multiple sites)Relevant welding certifications (TIG, MIG) beneficial or required depending on projectsAdditional certifications such as CSCS SkillCard, IPAF (MEWP), PASMA advantageousStrong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently or as part of a teamApply NowIf you are an experienced pipe fitter seeking a long-term role with varied work, strong technical challenges, and opportunities to apply your specialist skills, M4 Recruitment would like to hear from you.Please get in touch today to apply or request further details.TPBN1_UKTJ
