Class Teacher - Maternity Cover (Primary)
Contract: Full Time, Maternity Cover
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Contract Length: Until the end of the academic year (with potential extension)
Location: Surrey / Epsom area
Pay: MPS-UPS, paid to scale (daily rate equivalent)
A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in the Surrey / Epsom area is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis.
Set within a friendly and supportive school community, this role offers the opportunity to provide continuity and high-quality teaching during a maternity absence. The Headteacher is keen to appoint a committed and motivated teacher who will quickly become part of the school team and contribute positively to the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos.
The school is open to teachers across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on experience and preference, and would welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers.
The role will include full class responsibility, including planning, assessment, and attendance at staff meetings in line with school expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full teaching responsibility for a primary class
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
Assess, track and report on pupils' progress and attainment
Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
Inspire enthusiasm, confidence and a love of learning

Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in a primary setting (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
Enhanced DBS Disclosure (or willingness to obtain one)
Legal right to work in the UK
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
A positive, flexible and professional approach
