Project Director – Facade Specialist Contractor
Location: London (projects) | Business: Nationwide
Turnover: Circa £20m and growing
Salary: £85,000 – £100,000 + company package
The Company
The business is a growing facade specialist contractor operating nationwide, delivering both facade remediation and new-build external envelope projects. Its technical capability includes cladding systems, EWI render, brick slips, glazing, windows, doors, and curtain walling, providing full design, supply, and installation services.
The company operates as both Principal Contractor and Specialist Facade Contractor, delivering major projects for a wide range of clients across the UK. With a strong and expanding pipeline of London work, the business is seeking an experienced Project Director to oversee its London project portfolio.
The Role
The Project Director will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple London-based facade projects, from tender stage through to completion. The role will involve strategic oversight of programming, planning, logistics, installation, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The Project Director will act as the senior point of contact for clients and key stakeholders and will work collaboratively with Design, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure efficient and coordinated project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead London projects from tender stage through to final handover
* Oversee project planning, programming, sequencing, and logistics
* Provide senior leadership during installation and delivery phases
* Act as the principal point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
* Work collaboratively with Design and Commercial teams to manage risk, value, and buildability
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
* Support and mentor project teams, driving performance and consistency
* Contribute to business growth, client relationships, and repeat work opportunities
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a senior project delivery role (Project Director, Operations Director, or Senior Project Manager) within facades or building envelope works
* Strong technical knowledge of cladding, curtain walling, glazing, EWI render, brick slips, windows, and doors
* Experience delivering major London projects, ideally as a Principal Contractor and/or specialist facade contractor
* Strong commercial awareness with excellent programme and logistics management skills
* Confident leader capable of managing teams and senior client relationships
* Collaborative and solutions-focused approach
