The Role We’re looking for a Head Waiter to join the team at The Alfred Tennyson, our elegant and much-loved Belgravia pub known for its refined service, seasonal British menu, and welcoming atmosphere. As a Head Waiter, you’ll lead by example on the floor, delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the front-of-house team. You’ll embody Cubitt House hospitality—warm, attentive, and professional—ensuring every guest feels valued from the moment they arrive. Key Responsibilities Deliver warm, genuine hospitality aligned with Cubitt House service standards. Support the management team in ensuring smooth floor operations. Lead by example, mentoring junior team members and supporting training. Maintain strong product knowledge across food, wine, and cocktails. Ensure guest needs are anticipated and exceeded at every service. Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout service. Skills & Experience Previous experience as a Head Waiter or senior FOH position in a quality venue. Excellent communication and guest-facing skills. A positive, energetic approach with a passion for hospitality. Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail. Enthusiasm for learning, developing, and growing within the role.
