Support Young People to Rebuild Confidence in Learning the provision in Poole is seeking an empathetic and academically confident Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary PRU provision supporting pupils with additional learning and emotional needs. This setting provides a calm and nurturing environment for young people experiencing challenges such as Autism Spectrum Condition, emotionally based school avoidance, anxiety-related difficulties and barriers connected to attendance. Class sizes remain intentionally small, enabling staff to provide highly personalised guidance and meaningful encouragement to every pupil. Working within a team consisting of a teacher and support assistant, you will contribute to both the educational and pastoral development of students working across a range of abilities, including those preparing for GCSE qualifications. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are therefore essential, while knowledge of Science would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will understand the importance of patience, consistency and emotional reassurance. Many pupils within this setting require adults who can provide stability, positive communication and gentle encouragement while promoting independence and self-belief.
