Responsibilities
* Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity
* Assess and identify vulnerabilities and work proactively to minimise risk
* Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable
* Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Complete colleague and contractor searches in line with customer policy
* Digitally report incidents using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Provide detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities
* Provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, and complete incident reports
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer you must be a confident communicator capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming, patient with customers, and able to handle conflict professionally.
Qualifications
* Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence
* Previous experience in a Retail Security role is an advantage but not essential; full training will be given
* Full 5‑year checkable work or school history and right‑to‑work documents
