Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)
Location: Covering the North West region, Greater Manchester East & West
Cambian Group, the UK's largest provider of specialist services in children’s residential care, education, mental health rehabilitation, and learning disabilities, is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Practitioner. The role requires experience working in residential and CAMHS settings, specifically within Looked After Children’s services, and familiarity with the consultation model of service delivery.
Job Role
We are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner to implement a trauma-informed approach across our complex care community residential services, working with young people exhibiting social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
If you possess excellent assessment skills and have strong therapeutic consultation experience in residential settings or working with Looked After Children, this role offers a rewarding opportunity.

This role is dynamic and fast-paced, involving extensive fieldwork. You will provide therapeutic services to young people in community residential settings, conducting assessments, formulating and implementing therapeutic intervention plans, and supporting trauma-informed and evidence-based practices. Your work will ensure timely support in school and home environments, aiding young people in overcoming trauma and fostering independence.
The role offers autonomy, requiring you to assess and identify the needs of young people and staff through consultation, training, and reflective practice.

Candidate Profile
* Registered with relevant professional bodies (HCPC, NMC, BACP)
* Higher-level qualification in counselling, therapeutic support, psychotherapy, social work, or nursing
* Experience working with vulnerable young people in therapeutic or counseling settings
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Ability to plan and deliver therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
* Experience with consultation models
* Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
* Knowledge of the complex needs of vulnerable young people in various settings
* Ability to work under pressure and assess risk effectively
* Autonomous decision-making skills and team collaboration
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and accurate records
* Passion for working with at-risk young people
* Non-judgmental, empathetic attitude
* Willingness to undertake relevant training
* Valid full driving license (travel required)
Beneficial Skills and Experience
