We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated GP to join our team. You will provide high‑quality, comprehensive primary healthcare to patients of all ages, up to six clinical sessions per week. Nestling in the glorious Forest of Dean, with good travel links to Gloucester, Bristol, Monmouth and Newport, our Cinderford Surgery serves the town and surrounding rural communities. The Forest of Dean is a beautiful area rich in heritage and wildlife, well known for outdoor activities including walking and mountain‑biking, and well served by secondary schools rated good or above with leisure centres, football, rugby, hockey, cricket and running teams for all ages.
In environmentally friendly new premises, we occupy the first purpose‑built dementia‑friendly surgery in the UK. With a list of over 11,800 patients and support from our practice team, patients can also access a full range of services at our branch sites in Ruardean and Westbury.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities
The post‑holder will undertake all standard duties and responsibilities of a General Practitioner in primary care, including but not limited to:
* Conducting surgery consultations, handling patient queries, and triaging cases.
* Home visits for patients when required.
* Managing emergencies and urgent care needs.
* Performing telephone consultations and signing repeat prescriptions.
* Reviewing patient test results, medical reports, and examinations on behalf of the Practice.
* Preparing NHS referral letters and other correspondence as needed.
Administrative & IT Responsibilities
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes using the IT system.
* Issuing acute and repeat prescriptions electronically (avoiding handwritten prescriptions when possible).
* Ensuring compliance with all practice policies and guidelines, including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health & safety.
* Supporting the annual QOF assessment of the Practice.
Quality & Development
* Contributing to clinical audits, evaluations, and standard-setting within the organisation.
* Attending training sessions, practice meetings, and external events relevant to the role.
About Us
Our friendly team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, NPs, prescribing nurses, a clinical pharmacist, and dedicated clinical and non‑clinical teams. We employ/host an increasing number of Primary Care Network (PCN) roles, including a Mental Health Practitioner, Pharmacy Technicians, and Physiotherapists.
We continually strive to develop our practice, embracing new ways of working. Regular social events and activities and promotion of staff wellbeing (including proactive workload management). Good balance of telephone and F2F appointments. Pro‑rata duty and patient list allocation. Specialist clinical interests encouraged and supported. Regular breaks and admin time. Monthly PLT sessions combining a mix of formal and informal training in practice or with colleagues across the PCN. Fortnightly sexual health clinic. Dispensing practice, providing accessible medications for our patients. Active participant in the Forest of Dean PCN, fostering collaboration across the region. Operating on TPP SystmOne/Ardens templates for efficient patient management.

Essential Criteria
* Fully qualified GP with GMC full registration.
* Eligible to work in general practice in the NHS.
* Registered on the Performers List.
* MBChB and MRCGP qualifications.
