Key Responsibilities Own and oversee the debtors ledger, providing regular reports to management and maintaining DSO targets. Proactively manage customer accounts, resolve queries, and maximise cash collection while minimizing outstanding debt. Lead and mentor one direct report (Credit Controller), reviewing performance and allocating tasks. Continuously review aged debtors, escalate issues, manage legal proceedings, and review bad debt provisions. Liaise with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service) to resolve disputes and facilitate collections. Produce weekly/monthly reports on aged debt, cash forecasts, KPIs, and top 10 debt commentary for the board. Review customer credit facilities, ensure alignment with payment terms, perform reconciliations, and handle cash allocation. Embrace continuous improvement, make process recommendations, and support year-end activities. Essential Requirements Extensive experience in credit control, account reconciliation, debt collection methods, cash allocation, and customer relationship management—ideally from a corporate finance environment. Strong leadership skills to train, develop, and lead junior staff by example. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables essential); Power BI, Sage 200, and Insphire desirable.
