Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist – Milling and Turning) to join a world leading engineering manufacturer, with over 45 years of experience. You will be working on technically complex products and assemblies for flagship UK projects and programs.
The CNC Machinist will be working on high quality, high integrity parts in a range of materials, the role on offer will be challenging and rewarding.
Please Note: Due to the security level of the projects the business work on, British Nationality is required for this role.
CNC Machinist Salary, Hours and Benefits
1. £44,000 - £47,000 (includes shift allowance)
2. 39 hours per week, Day & Night Shift rotation
3. 33 days holiday including bank holidays
4. Overtime available, including weekends
5. Sick pay
This role is commutable from: Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Alfreton, Ilkeston, Chesterfield
CNC Machinist Candidate Requirements
6. Apprenticeship trained, time served, NVQ level 3, or higher
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team
8. Minimum 3 years experience in a precision machining role with large components
9. Experience of multiple control systems is preferred (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol)
10. Exposure to relevant industries, Nuclear, Power Generation, Aerospace
11. Proven experience of working to high precision tolerances and large components
12. Experience of working with a wide range of materials
CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities
13. Machining of high integrity parts in a variety of materials (nickel alloys, stainless steels, titanium, aluminium, carbon steels).
14. Programming, setting and operation of machines as required, including prove out of new programs.
15. Work to an exacting quality standard to ensure parts are machined right first time and on time.
16. Maintain a high level of housekeeping to ensure the on-going cleanliness of the facilities.
17. Ensure that route card instructions are followed and that all documentation is completed to company procedures.
18. Be able to read and understand complex engineering drawings
19. Use and interpret workshop measuring equipment
20. Perform in cycle deburring of components where appropriate
21. Perform periodic maintenance checks of equipment as appropriate
22. Proactively identify and suggest improvement opportunities
23. Ensure all working hours are accurately logged (direct and indirect hours)
