Role Description
This is a full-time office-based role for a Contracts Manager at our location in Southend-On-Sea. The candidate chosen will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, between £500k - £4m. The Contracts Manager's key accountabilities will include collaborating with clients, leading projects, and working effectively with both subcontractors and internal staff to ensure the smooth running of projects.
Responsibilities
* Oversee projects from start to finish, with project values between £500k and £4m.
* Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and expectations.
* Lead projects and coordinate work with subcontractors and internal staff to ensure smooth delivery.
* Monitor progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion.
* Integrate into a small, family-run business and adapt to its processes and culture.
Qualifications
* Driving license
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
* Industry experience in project management
* Proficient in cost control
* Strong negotiation skills
* Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications
* Knowledge of construction materials and methods
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Experience managing a team
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills
* Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field
* Knowledge/experience in quantity surveying will be considered an asset
