Join Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance as a Carbon and Innovation Coordinator.
Location: Flexible/Hybrid work from Peterborough office and home
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Carbon and Innovation Coordinator to support and enhance our project delivery team.
What will you be doing as our new Carbon and Innovation Coordinator?
You will support the assessment and implementation of new technologies, materials, and ways of working that reduce SPA’s carbon impact. You will work proactively to seek out innovations within the wider water industry and bring them into SPA, and you will be a recognised ‘go to’ person within SPA whenever new technologies, materials, or ways of working are identified.
You will work closely with our engineering teams and other cross-SPA functions to implement the new innovations and drive improvement. You will also work closely with Anglian Water and other Anglian Water framework teams in sharing good practice and innovation to support wider Anglian Water ambitions.
Key responsibilities:
* Work with the Carbon & Innovation Manager to complete carbon and cost assessments of new innovations, highlighting how they enable SPA to deliver Anglian Water’s carbon commitments:
o 70% reduction in Capital Carbon against our 2010 baseline by 2030
o Work towards Net Zero Operational Carbon by 2030
o Anglian Water’s bespoke Outcome Delivery Incentive (ODI) around Low Carbon Concrete (LCC)
o Anglian Water’s 5 Client Carbon Commitments
o Keep accurate record of innovation opportunities that have been considered and explored.
* Work with delivery teams to document lessons learned from innovation trials, enabling knowledge sharing and potential re-investigation of innovations that become more advanced.
* Establish feedback streams that enable identification of innovation opportunities within SPA.
* Attend innovation conferences and events to build your personal network, allowing cross-industry collaboration and increasing your awareness of the latest innovations within the water and construction industries.
* Work closely with the innovation teams within Anglian Water and other Anglian Water frameworks to offer support and knowledge sharing on large innovation projects.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours:
This job might be for you if you have:
* Ideally been educated to degree level in an industry related subject
* An understanding of relevant industry standards and directives and how we need to apply them in SPA i.e. PAS2080
* An understanding of the wider water industry innovation, and corporate net-zero, landscape
* The ability to take personal responsibility for continually improving own knowledge in emergent technologies and external networks
* Effective written and verbal communication, with excellent organisation and analytical skills
Not only do we look for the best talent to join us on our journey, we also look for individuals to demonstrate key behaviours that align with our values and beliefs.
Working with the highest degree of integrity, we want SPA employees to take ownership and accountability for their outputs and be driven to continuously improve how they work.
