About the Role

We’re looking for a talented and passionate Industrial Designer to join our growing team and help shape the future of TentBoxes and adventure accessories.

This is a hands-on, design role for someone with experience in soft goods/ textile construction, paired with strong 3D design skills and an eye for detail, materials, finishes, and form.

You’ll play a key part in taking products from concept through to production, working closely with our in-house design team and manufacturing partners to bring innovative, high-performance products to life.

You’ll be central to evolving the TentBox design language and delivering best-in-class products that look great, function beautifully, and hold up to real-world adventure. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast-paced, high-growth company where great design matters.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

* Use design to develop soft goods across the range including Tentboxes, awning systems, storage, and accessories.
* Support the integration of soft goods with structural components, ensuring textiles and framework assemblies work seamlessly together.
* Deliver solutions that are innovative, functional, and aligned with the TentBox design language and brand purpose.
* Develop insight from user feedback and field testing to inform design direction.
* Translate concepts into technical drawings, patterns and specifications for prototyping.

Material & CMF

* Help lead CMF strategy, ensuring a consistent and elevated product identity.
* Select appropriate materials and construction methods to meet performance, cost, and aesthetic goals.
* Ensure material and finish choices align with durability, functionality, sustainability, and brand identity.
* Collaborate with factories, suppliers, and internal teams to validate and implement materials.
* Stay up to date with materials, manufacturing innovations, and outdoor product trends, bringing fresh thinking to the team.
* Build and test functional prototypes in-house - from rough mock-ups to refined samples.
* Collaborate with overseas manufacturers on sampling, construction, and production challenges.
* Prepare and maintain tech packs, BOMs, and documentation throughout the design process.
* Work with the marketing team to align product design with brand storytelling.
* Support field testing and iterate based on real-world performance and user feedback.

Ideal Candidate

* Holds a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion/Textile Design, or a related field.
* Has 3+ years of experience, ideally with strong, recent experience of technical soft goods, outdoor gear, or performance apparel.
* Brings a strong portfolio demonstrating sketching, prototyping, concept development, understanding of CMF, and production-ready soft goods.
* Deep understanding of materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes, particularly across softgoods with a passion for functional, beautiful design and outdoor adventure.
* Experienced in collaborating with manufacturers, including sampling, material selection, factory communication, and preparing tech packs/ specification documents.
* Comfortable working at the intersection between soft and hard goods, where fabric meets framework within complex assemblies.
* Proficient in design tools such as Fusion 360 (or similar), Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite.
* Hands-on with testing, prototyping and problem-solving and confident iterating quickly with both textiles and hardware.
* A clear communicator and team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with product engineering, production, and brand teams.
* Passionate about product performance, beautiful design, and the outdoor lifestyle.
