Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

Hill McGlynn is delighted to be partnering with a reputable and growing Main Construction Contractor to recruit an experienced Buyer based out of their Romford (Havering) office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of projects, particularly within the residential sector.
The Role:
As Buyer, you will play a key role in the procurement of materials and subcontract packages across multiple construction projects. Working closely with commercial and site teams, you will ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality, compliance, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Source, negotiate, and procure materials and subcontractor packages
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
Obtain competitive quotations and carry out cost comparisons
Ensure timely delivery of materials in line with project programmes
Work closely with Commercial and Project Teams to align procurement strategies
Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation Requirements:
Proven experience as a Buyer within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chain processes
Residential construction experience is highly advantageous
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong organisational ability with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines What's on Offer:
